If the rumors are correct, this year promises to be exciting due to the hoped for updates to the iMac and Mac Mini, as well as the expected refresh of the remainder of the Cinema displays. Also expected (however unconfirmed by Apple, of course) is the announcement of a 32GB iPhone. Previous versions of the iPhone have been limited in size due to the availability of larger, single memory chips. However in August, Toshiba announced that they would begin mass production of higher density 32GB chips in the 4th quarter of 2008. These chips could presumably be used in future iPhone and iPod touch models.

But here’s the big news. Apple alleges that it believes there are corporations and/or individuals behind Psystar, who may be added as defendants once Apple in discovery finds out who they are. Woah.
….
So, Apple apparently believes that somebody else is behind Psystar, which might help to explain why a major law firm would take on what seems like a fly-by-night’s case; also why Psystar has been so bold in continuing to sell its products. I knew this thing felt funny. As Alice in Wonderland might put it, “It gets interestinger and interestinger.

The BBC labels this as the result of a “fresh threat”. The Washington Post wonders if they will stop showing their Mac and PC “Virus” TV Commercial. Cnet goes as far as saying that “Apple changes its tune by advising Mac users to install antivirus software in nod that even Mac users aren’t immune to rising malware threats.” (they have edited their story after it was demonstrated false by some internet users). The reality is that the note above is just an update to this support article from 2007
